Its been a while since I blogged. This time of year is a busy one for everyone that celebrates Christmas, and it just seems that I have been none stop with work and shopping. Planning journeys up and down the country and of course the odd sleep!

As far back as I can remember, I have loved Christmas, in fact I remember thinking once 'I wish christmas could be everyday'. I was lucky enough to have everything as a little girl. I never asked for anything yet got lots. My mom and dad would lay out a HUGE bag of goodies from Father Christmas and I would open my bedroom door on Christmas Morning to find my stocking stopping the door from opening. But as I am older now Christmas is all about family. Me and my partner live away form home and it is this time of year that I miss doing the family things that I took for granted as a teen.

Firtsly, there is the Christmas tree and decorations. Although I was never much help, never had any organisation and would just make the tea- I loved helping Dad decorate, it was a family job. Now I have my own tree, it is only 2 foot tall but it is mine.

Then there was the build up to the big day. Shopping and wrapping! My mom would always ask me to wrap my sisters presents, and vice versa, this year I am not going to get the chance to help. After much delibertion, we decided to go home for christmas this year but we wil miss all the helping and setting up. No matter how much I moaned with helping with food last year I really want to help this year, typical!

This post is not about what I have, but what others may not. There are millions of people in this world that will not have a happy christmas, probably will not even celebrate it, for whatever reason. Personally I find this hard to take. I have the type of nature that wants to help everyone and give all I can, although I know I cant. Whether they be homeless or in a deprived state everyone deserves a chance to have a merry christmas. This is why everyone should simply give a thought to them.

We all take things for granted, even the little things like turkey and potatoes. Unfortunately it is going to take more than a few prayers to help the millions I am talkign about, but at least we can think about them and consider what can be done for them. Even if it is as small as sending a shoe box full of gifts and food.

It is just an idea for next christmas. Something small, that will make someone smile :)

The One-Minute Writer: Today's Writing Prompt: One Minute

If i could have just one minute, I would be invisable and watching over my family. Living away from home I would love to be able to check on them every now again. Infact, maybe I will use the next minute to ring my Mom, just for a chat.

The One-Minute Writer: Today's Writing Prompt: Scar story

The One-Minute Writer: Today's Writing Prompt: Scar story

I have loads of scars fron Chickenpox. When i was 9 i had them really bad all over my body, in my throat and ears, its was horrible, And due to the great maount of scratching i did, it left me with a few tiny scars. Like the one on the tip of my nose and the one on my side.

I think the main one i remember though is the small square scar i have on my right palm.

It happened when i was about 12. In an adventure break with school. Llanrug was where the shcools took us for a week of activities. The scar is from a zip line where we had to zip across from one cliff to the other, they told me to use my hat to protect my hands, except the wire went right through my hat and gloves. I remember it hurting alot, luckily it had only left a small mark.

One Minute Writers Prompt: Broadway

'MY LIFE AND THE PEOPLE IN IT'

If there was a broadway show written about my life it would be called 'my life and the people in it'. It would show everyone and everything that has had an effect on my life.

A happy and thought provoking musical, this show leaves the viewer with a feeling of glee that this life was a happy one.

This girl never had a bad childhood and saw the world through rose tinted glasses, but this only left the people she met glowing of her positivity and giving them the strength they needed to get over their problems and bad circumstances.

This musical is what she wanted her life to be like; full of songs and bursting into dance. The show will leave you overcome with 'tingles' and love.

The Biggest Boyband songs of the 90s....oh yes!

So, i was getting ready for work and i hear on the tv something that I have not heard in years. A Take That song, followed by Boyzone, then Backstreet Boys. By this time i had ran into the living room to see how the songs of my childhood could be all together. A music channel was doing the Biggest Boyband songs of the 90s! Genious!

Nowadays, I am not so much into pop music but as a young child I was the ultimate pop princess. The songs were just so happy and could make you dance in a beat, what was no to like?! The fact that Take That and Boyzone are now back on the music scene was exciting but i think i had grown out of it slightly, I did go see Boyzone in concert and enjoyed behaving like a love struck teen again however.

The cheesy lines, the terrible outfits and the dance moves that you learnt off by heart were all part of the fun. I remember my best friend and I arguing over who was the cutest in A1 (see below). The we'd spend hours singing to out hearts content to their album. It is true that music can bring back so many memories, it is a strong genre and if i am honest i dont think there is any other that can bring back such strong ones. When you hear a song you can remember where you were and how you felt hearing it (or singing to it in my case).

The other special group to us was Five. Oh how we loved them. They played a big part in our growing up! Like they did in many girls my age, and those before us. It just changes with generations. My Mom loves Dr Hook, whenever she goes and sees him in concert I can imagine her being a 'groupy' and loving every minute of it. M Nan's was probably Frank Sinatra and those that are in the next generation will be indie bands. I listen to those bands now, its just nothing will replace the boybands that had us in such a state as young teen girls.

So I leave you with something that made my day, have a good thursday everyone!

One Minute Writer: Favourite Place

http://oneminutewriter.blogspot.com/2008/11/todays-writing-prompt-favorite-place.html

My favourite place in my home is curled up on the sofa with a big quilt watching american sitcoms.

On a winter day there is nothing better than staying in and having a 'pyjamas day'.
